The achievement of a “Spiritual Path to the Sacred Space” presented a complex, three dimensional challenge in the master planning for the expansion of this large Gothic Revival church facility constructed in 1928 and listed on the Register of Historic Places.  The solution was found in the creation of a 3rd floor, street-level, vehicular bridge creating a covered automobile drop-off and visitor parking at the Sanctuary level of the facility.  The newly configured and more visible entrance is immediately adjacent to a Welcome Center and Administrative Center.  In addition to the worship and educational functions, the expansion houses the Signature Community Ministries including a fully-licensed Child Care Center with a capacity of 200 , a Youth Center for educational, performance, and recreational activities, and a 200-unit Senior Housing Facility primarily for independent living but with ancillary health care capability.
