| This planned 100-acre retirement community is comprised of
250 equity homes (a mix of single-family detached, duplex and quadraplex
units), 250 apartments and facilities of assisted living,
skilled nursing, and three-level Alzheimer care. The project
features many aspects of "New Urbanism" in its planning with
connected streets, a pedestrian circulation system combining traditional
sidewalks at all streets with central open green spaces,
a front porch for each home, and a system of alley ways which
orient vehicular services to the rear of each home. In addition,
great emphasis has been placed on the "Main Street concept,"
wherein program functions are located on the street level
storefronts with living quarters on the two levels
above. |
